NOV 9 EVENT DEMONSTRATES HOW "COACHING WORKS"

What obstacles are you facing? How can your life and work be more satisfying? Millions of individuals and companies around the world hire Professional Coaches to provide them with objectivity and support in improving their careers, businesses and lives. Phil Mickelson has a coach, so does Sandra Bullock and Bill Gates. No matter where you are in life, coaching can work for you.

On Wednesday, November 9 from 1 - 5 p.m., come see how "Coaching Works" at a PCA special event which will be held at Highland Country Club in West View, PA. During the event, attendees will experience coaching first hand by receiving free coaching on an issue they need help with and through observing professional coaches in action as they coach others.

Coaching Works will include coaching demonstrations by three Professional Coaches who each use their coaching skills to help clients work through different issues. Dr. Janice Sabatine of Avanti Strategies is an Executive Coach who specializes in serving women in science and medicine. Dr. Sabatine has more than 30 years of experience in biomedical research and uses coaching to focus on behavioral changes that improve workplace effectiveness. Lou Daddea spent 12 years as an IT manager and consultant before finding his true calling. As a personal development and spiritual coach, Lou inspires mid-life professionals, who feel stuck in their life, to find their true passion and empowers them to realize their dreams. Laura Crooks is an experienced Registered Nurse who became a wellness coach to enhance wellness through prevention and lifestyle changes, as opposed to disease management. "My philosophy is that the leg bone really is connected to the hip bone: your stress, sleep, happiness, energy levels, mood, weight, values, eating and exercise are all interrelated."

Coaching Works will also feature small group speed coaching offered by coaches with different specialty areas and private one-on-one coaching, which will provide all attendees with an opportunity to receive coaching from Professional Coach members of the Pittsburgh Coaches Association. All PCA members will have the opportunity to promote their business and are encouraged to bring brochures and business cards. The cost to attend is $29 and includes the program, free coaching, refreshments and a networking event that begins at 4 p.m. where hors d'oeuvres will be served. $5 from each ticket sold is being donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, a non-profit organization that provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better.

Coaching Works is a special event created by the Pittsburgh Coaches Association, a 501(c)6 organization that promotes and advocates for the coaching profession in the Pittsburgh region. Highland Country Club is located 15 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh and is just off the Bellevue/West View exit of I-279 North. Ample free parking is within feet of the entrance. Advance registration for Coaching Works is required by November 7 and can be completed by visiting www.pittsburghcoaches.org/coachingworks.
